Iranian Leader's aide: Anti-ISIL coalition aimed at justifying US meddling in region

TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that the US-led coalition against the ISIL terrorist group is politically-tainted and is aimed at securing Washington's own interests in the Middle-East.
Rahim Safavi criticized the so-called international coalition led by the US against ISIL terrorists, noting that the United States, by means of such an alliance, is trying to increase the number of its military bases in the Middle-East, to justify its military presence in the region and make more money from weapons sales.

Rahim Safavi pointed to Washingtons military involvement in regional crises, stressing that supporters of terrorists, the United States in particular, are not eligible to assemble an anti-terror coalition, and that the US intervention in the regional affairs will certainly deteriorate the crises in Iraq and Syria.

After the so-called US-led coalition against the ISIL declared its creation, Iran lashed out at the western states for pursuing a double-standard policy towards campaign against terrorism in various countries.
