FM concerned over global human rights situation

New York, Sept 25, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday expressed concern over present human rights situation worldwide noting that exchange of views can help promote its current status.
Speaking in a meeting with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al Hussein, the Iranian FM criticized double standard policy in dealing with human rights issue.
He said the so-called advocates of human rights used it as a pressure lever against other nations.

Zarif said in dealing with the human rights issue, "it is essential to pay due attention to the culture of different nations."

Meanwhil, Al-Hussein said continued exchange of views on human rights can lead to a better understanding of the issue and help find a solution to the problem.
