Iranian Army vows to nip all threats in bud

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Army pledged to show a crushing response to the threats against the country, saying it would nip them all in the bud with a high degree of preparedness.
In a Sunday statement on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week, which marks the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988), the Army expressed full readiness to safeguard the countrys territorial integrity along with the other Iranian armed forces.
In Iran, the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war is known as the Sacred Defense, and Sacred Defense Week is held on the anniversary of the beginning of the war.

Sacred Defense Week begins on Shahrivar 31 in the Iranian calendar (September 22 this year), which is the day Iraq invaded Iran and began the imposed war on the country in 1980.

Each year, Iranian armed forces attend nationwide military parades to mark the week, during which the countrys latest defensive achievements are put on display.
