Iranian history-drama feature film Maritime Silk Road has garnered award at the 2014 International Historical and Military Film Festival in Warsaw, Poland.
Directed by Mohammad Reza Bozorgnia, the film took this years festivals jury award known as Silver Sword Award.
While the winners were honored during awards ceremony, Irans cultural attaché in Poland Behzad Mohammadi received the prize on behalf of the films team.
The movie follows the adventures of the first sailor Soleiman Siraf who crossed the Indian Ocean to China through what later became known as the Maritime Silk Road.
The movie has been showcased in a number of international events and took several awards.
Ali Ghaffaris film Extradition also represented Iran at the competition section of the festival.
The Queen by Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar, Soil and Coralby Masoud Atyabi and Berlin-7 by Ramtin Lavafipour were also among the Iranian films entered this years Warsaw festival.
Some 48 films contended for awards at the competition section and 15 screen productions displayed in other sections of the event.
The 2014 International Historical and Military Film Festival in Warsaw took place from September 9 to 13.
