Iraq forces push ISIL back in Al Anbar: Report

The Iraqi military has reportedly pushed ISIL Takfiri militants back in parts of Al-Anbar Province.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense made the announcement on Thursday, saying the Iraqi forces had killed 188 terrorists, IRNA reported.

The province is a stronghold for the ISIL militants, who launched a major offensive across northern and western Iraq three months ago.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces from the Iraqi Kurdistan also pushed ISIL militants from parts of the west of Erbil.

On Wednesday, the Iraqi Air Force attacked one of the terrorist groups positions in the south of the Saladin Province, 170 kilometers north of Baghdad, killing 26 ISIL terrorists, including one of the groups ringleaders, and destroying six of their arms-laden vehicles.

Enjoying popular support, Iraqi forces have been battling ISIL over the past months.

The ISIL terrorists control large parts of Syrias northern territory. The ISIL also sent its Takfiri militants into Iraq in June, quickly seizing large swathes of land straddling the border between the two countries.
