TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Iranian defense minister said Gaza victory in the most recent military confrontation with Israel laid bare the Tel Aviv regimes weakness in the face of the Muslim unity.The Zionist regimes humiliating defeat in Gaza proved that the criminal regime is a failed, isolated and passive regime in case of concerted and outright action by Muslims, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Begenc Gundogdyyew in Ashgabat on Monday.
The Iranian official also emphasized the need for cooperation among the Islamic countries to avert any repetition of such anti-human crimes by Israel.
Elsewhere in his comments, Dehqan pointed to the historical, cultural and religious bonds between Iran and Turkmenistan, saying the numerous commonalities necessitate expansion of ties between the two neighbors in all fields.
Referring to the frontier between Iran and Turkmenistan as borders of peace and friendship, the Iranian minister underlined that the two countries can unleash their potential in light of stability and security.
Gundogdyyew, for his part, expressed satisfaction with Irans military progress in recent years, saying the Iranian armed forces are in the worlds top list of armed forces.
He also emphasized the need for enhancement of defensive cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat.
This is the first trip by an Iranian defense minister to Turkmenistan following its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
