Iran places no trust in US alleged campaign against terrorism: Interior minister

Tehran, Sept 15, IRNA Iran places no trust in US alleged campaign against terrorism, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a local ceremony, he added that Iran is a victim of terrorism and would continue its support for the Syrian and Iraqi nation against the terror groups.
Rahmani Fazli noted that Iran's lack of trust in US anti-terror campaign emanated from the United States double standard about various issues of terrorism, human rights and peaceful use of nuclear energy.

He hoped that US and its allies take a logical and honest approach toward the anti-terror campaign.

Iran has announced that it is ready to provide help to combat terrorism in Iraq and restore security to the neighboring country.

Late in August, French President Francois Hollande said Tehran would be an interlocutor on ways to deal with the threats posed by the Daesh terrorist group that is wreaking havoc on Iraq and Syria.

The Supreme Leader ruled out Iranian coalition with the United States in campaign against the Islamic State terror group saying that the US created the terror group with black record of crimes against humanity in Syria.

Daesh is an offshoot of al-Qaeda terrorist group that has overrun parts of the western and northwestern Iraq.

Iraqi army, volunteer forces and Kurdish Peshmarga have launched massive operations to liberate the Iraqi territories and wipe out the Islamic State terror group from Iraq.

Ever since the escalation of the Daesh terror operations in the Middle-Eastern country, Iran extended full-fledged support to the Iraqi government and nation.
