President Rouhani plans to attend UN General Assembly meeting this month

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani plans to travel to New York on September 22 to attend the upcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly.
The Iranian president is also due to address the UN General Assembly meeting similar to the last year.

The 69th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 69) will convene at UN Headquarters on Tuesday, 16 September 2014.

President Rouhani will later travel to Astrakhan in Russia to take part in the Fourth Summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states on September 29.

Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are the littoral states of the Caspian Sea.

The Caspian Sea is the largest enclosed body of water by area, and is variously classed as the world's largest lake or a full-fledged sea.

The issue of the Caspian Seas legal regime has come under spotlight ever since the breakup of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and emergence of new independent states.
