Nasim Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is recovering in hospital after having prostate surgery, as the Head of his medical team, Dr. Ali Reza Marandi, confirmed he is in good condition after a surgery that took less than half an hour and was performed under local anesthesia.
Earlier Monday and just before his surgery, Supreme Leader told state TV: There is no room for concern, but this does not mean that they the people should not pray.
Dr. Marandi told Media that Ayatollah Khamenei is advised to stay in hospital for 3 to 5 days which is the average hospital stay, meanwhile he requires a two week period to return to normal activity.
We have advised him to reduce the pressure in his routine activities, said the Head of Ayatollah Khameneis medical team; however, Supreme Leader is determined to return to his normal activity as soon as possible.
