Iran firms supply 80% of IOPTC needs

TEHRAN August 27 (Shana)–Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) gets more than 80 percent of its needed equipment from domestic companies, IOPTC chief said.

“In the turbine sector, around 70 percent of parts are procured by domestically manufactured companies,” Abbas-Ali Jaafari said.

“Turbine gas technologies are as sophisticated as airplane engine technology and therefore their maintenance is not simple. But IOPTC is successfully doing so,” he said.

He said that some Iranian companies have voiced readiness to manufacture gas turbines.

Jaafari said the valves used by IOPTC are all made in Iran.
