Official: Hydro-electric power plants capacity grows by 15 percent
Mahabad, Aug 15, IRNA Managing Director of Iran?s Water Resources Management Company Mohammad Hajj-Rasouliha said that capacity of Hydro-electric power plants in the country has increased by 15 percent compared with last year.
Hajj-Rasouliha told IRNA on Friday that the increase in production and optimum use of capacity of Hydro-electric power plants, helped to prevent shortage of electricity in spite of hot summer.
On the country?s water reservoirs, he said that entering level of water into dams reservoirs has decreased six percent compared with last year.

Average of precipitation in current year was 216 millimeters, which was 7 percent less than past year.

The managing director of the company is accompanying Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian in his visit to dams and projects in the west Azerbaijan province.
