Media hype fails to whitewash Israel crimes: Iran official

The media campaign by Israels allies to conceal its crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip has failed, a senior Iranian lawmaker says.
Chairman of Iran Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Friday that the United States and other countries supporting the Israeli regime did not succeed to conceal their heinous face from the public opinion through heavy news censorship and their nature was unmasked for all.

He hailed the historic Palestinian resistance in the course of the Israeli war on Gaza, adding that Palestinians did not allow the Tel Aviv regime to achieve its objectives.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel agreed on a five-day extension to their truce as indirect talks between the two sides continued in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

More than 1,960 Palestinians, including 470 children, have so far been killed and over 10,100 others injured in the Israeli military aggression against Gaza, which began on July 8.

Gaza has been under Israels blockade since June 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standards of living and poverty. The Rafah border crossing, linking Gaza to Egypt, is the only escape route that does not lead into Israel and can be used for the delivery of food and medical stuff to the besieged Palestinian territory, but Egypt has kept the crossing closed despite international calls to open it.
