TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Irans Mohammad Jafar Kambouzia has been re-elected Vice-President of FIDE, The World Chess Federation.
In the chess' world governing body's (FIDE) presidential election in Tromso, Norway, the Iranian chess president retained his seat with 93 votes.
Incumbent Kirsan Ilymzhinov of Russia has also been re-elected for a four-year term with 110 votes as president of Fide.
Ilyumzhinov has been president of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) the past 19 years.
Former world champion Garry Kasparov could only secure the votes of 61 of 175 delegates in the election.
