Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham on Tuesday congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his government and nation on Erdogan?s election as new president of Turkey with the people?s direct vote.She also expressed hope that the two neighboring countries ?will witness further expansion of relations in regional and international arenas.
The ruling Justice and Development Partys (AKP) candidate, Erdogan, won 51.65 percent of the votes in the first round of the Turkey presidential election.
