Minister: Iran does not need Turkmen gas

Tehran, Aug 11, IRNA Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said Iran did not need Turkmen gas.
However, he added, Tehran attaches importance to political and economic ties with Ashkhabad and is determined to further boost bilateral cooperation.
He noted that the increase in Iran?s gas output by 200 million cubic meters next Iranian year (to start March 21, 2015) will make the country needless of more imports from Turkmenistan.

He said Iran will maintain its strategic ties with Turkmenistan.
