TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian volleyball team was defeated against the 2014 World League champion 3-1 in a friendly on Sunday.The Iranian team, who lost to the US 3-0 in the World League in July, was defeated against the team 3-1 (27-25,25-21, 27-29, 25-17) at the Galen Center on the campus of the University of Southern California.
Iran will play US three more matches on August 13, 15 and 16.
Its very important, as Iranians are becoming a world class volleyball team, that we learn how to play against them and learn their system, US Team Captain Sean Rooney said.
The matches will give both teams good practice for the upcoming World Championships in Poland where Iran and the US will share the same preliminary group.
