Iran identifies 7.5m needy people

Tehran, Aug 9, IRNA – Iranˈs Cooperative, Labor and Welfare Minster Ali Rabiei announced that as many as 7.5 million needy people have been identified nationwide.
 Rabiei made the remark during the government’s provincial trip to Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province on Thursday, noting that “poverty is undeniable. Consequently, the ministry is seeking to support the poor with a ‘food package plan’.

The official added that the plan provides the poor with essential food such as proteins and vitamins.

Rabiei stressed that President Hassan Rouhani’s government has drawn up comprehensive plans to eradicate poverty and deprivation of the needy across the country.
