TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said the steel complex in the southwestern province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari would be opened next year.
“By the operation of the complex, one million tons of crude steel would be produced to give a %10 increase to the country’s steel output,” said the president, referring to the high capacity of the country’s steel sector.
Rouhani, who is on a trip to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province with his cabinet ministers, also described the steel industry as an infrastructural industry which is capable of creating high employment and value added through developing downstream chain industries.
The construction of the iron-making plant, steelmaking plant, support and auxiliary units of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari steel complex which started in 2007, has progressed 53 percent so far.
An investment of 126 million euros plus 2,000 billion Rials has been estimated for the whole project.
