Unlike Hashemi and Khatami, during Ahmadinejad government, books had the worst Print runs
IBNA- Books in Iran during the presidential terms of Hashemi, Khatami and Ahmadinejad had been respectively published with the highest and lowest print runs.
According to IBNA correspondent, the research works and statistics compiled in the last 35 years prove that during the eight years presidential term of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (the fifth and sixth governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran) the average print run of the books published in the country was 5220.
When the reformist president Mohammad Khatami took office (the seventh and eighth governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran) the average print run of the books published in Iran reduced to 4299.
But during the presidential term of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, due to taking severe measures of censorship and banning many Iranian books, the above mentioned average print run of the books was dramatically dropped to 3349, despite the fact that the population of Iran had increased.
