Iraq plans to track the issue of foreign support for ISIL terrorists at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
On Monday, Iraqi Justice Minister Hassan al-Shammari announced the plan to pursue the issue of financial support of certain countries for the ISIL Takfiri group and prepare documents on the crimes committed by them in the country.

The Iraqi minister said Baghdad has established a committee to prepare documents on the ISIL criminal acts and then submit them to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to bring the terrorists to justice and end the financial backing they enjoy.

Shammari said the committee will then ask the international tribunal to put the name of the terrorist group on its list of war criminals.

The ISIL Takfiri militants took control of the city of Mosul in a lightning advance on June 10. The takeover was followed by the fall of the city of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad. The control of Tikrit was later retaken by the Iraqi army.

The militants have since had control of some areas in northern and northwestern Iraq, and have committed major atrocities in these areas including beheading thousands of people ant troops.
