Nine Iranian nationals incarcerated in Qatar have reportedly been released after diplomatic efforts by Irans Foreign Ministry.
These individuals have entered Iran, an official with Iran's Foreign Ministry, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said in a Monday interview with IRNA.

The individuals, who were released at different stages, were sentenced from 10 to 20 years in prison and part of their prison terms was due to their inability to pay their fines, the source added.
Eleven other Iranian inmates in Qatar will be released in the coming days, the official noted.
The official stated that the Iranian nationals were detained mostly for entering territorial waters of Qatar illegally and on other charges.

At present, 58 Iranian nationals are incarcerated in Qatar.
