Tehran, July 13, IRNA - Minister of Science, Research and Technology Reza Faraji Dana will appear in Majlis once again to respond to questions from lawmakers.Five MPs will grill Faraji Dana in a meeting of Majliss Education and Research Committee on Tuesday, ?Iran Daily? wrote in its Upside/Downside column on Sunday.
The report came as the Majlis halted a motion to impeach the minister earlier this week.
On Monday, Faraji Dana attended a meeting with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and other top parliamentarians.
Qasem Jafari, a member of the Majlis Education and Research Committee, added it was decided that the demands of the movers of the motion be followed within the framework of the law within the next month. No MPs in the meeting have illegal demand, and Faraji Dana also pledged to act within the framework of law, Jafari said.
MP Mahmoud Negahban Salami said on Wednesday that hire and fire of officials of the ministry is the main reason for the motion. Supporters of Dana argue that it is the right of a minister to arrange his team members. Hundreds of professors of Iranian universities also have voiced support for Faraji Dana.
If the minister moves within the framework of law, there will be no impeachment after one month, Jafari said.
