Tehran to host two Olympiads

Tehran, July 7, IRNA — Tehran will host the 29th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2017 and the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2018.
Tuesday edition of the English language newspaper Iran Daily wrote that the IOI is an annual competitive programming competition for secondary school students. The first IOI was held in Pravetz, Bulgaria, in 1989.

The International Biology Olympiad is a scientific Olympiad for high school students under the age of 20. The first IBO was held in Czechoslovakia in 1990.

The 38th International Physics Olympiad was hosted by Isfahan, Iran, in 2007.
