An official with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) says the Islamic Republic plans to send economic delegations to 30 countries to boost trade ties.
Mir-Aboutaleb Badri, the TPOIs deputy director for marketing, told IRNA that the delegations, scheduled to be sent within the next month, will discuss holding joint exhibitions and attracting foreign investment in target countries.

He added that Iran has held joint economic meetings with at least ten countries since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started march 21, 2014).

Building a joint industrial park with China is one of the agreements reached during the meetings, Badri said, adding that that the TPOI aims to attract foreign direct investment into the country.

In June, Badri said Iran would almost triple the number of commercial attachs in its embassies abroad to boost trade ties. He added that the administration of President Hassan Rouhani is raising the number from 11 to 30.

The official noted that Tehran will send trade attachs to Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain and Switzerland as a sign of the Rouhani administration's determinationto boost trade relations with other countries.

Trade delegations from across the world have visited Iran to discuss resumption of bilateral businesses since November 2013, when Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council the United States, Russia, France, Britain and China plus Germany reached an interim nuclear deal in the Swiss city of Geneva.
