FM Zarif meets Chinese, Russian top negotiators in Vienna

Vienna, July 3, IRNA Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held separate meetings on Wednesday afternoon with heads of Chinese and Russian negotiating delegations in Vienna discussing major issues about Vienna 6 nuclear talks.
Director general of the Department of Arms Control of China?s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Qun leads the country?s delegation to Vienna while Russia?s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabov is the head of the the Russian delegation.

Earlier in the day, Zarif held also a bilateral meeting with the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton which was focused on drawing up agenda of the Vienna 6 talks.

The Iranian foreign minister also attended a tripartite meeting with Ashton and the US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

Reports said that general talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 begins at the UN headquarters in Vienna on Thursday.

The talks could potentially last until July 20 when an interim deal from November expires, although it could be extended up to six months.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival to Vienna on Wednesday, Zarif had said reaching a comprehensive final agreement will be possible ?if the other side is politically determined to do so.?
