Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi[/caption]Iran seeks to reach a fair and rational nuclear agreement with six world powers which will safeguard the rights of the Iranian nation as a main priority, a senior Iranian nuclear negotiator says.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council Russia, China, France, Britain and the US plus Germany will resume the sixth round of talks over Tehrans nuclear energy program in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Wednesday.
Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that no deadline has been set for this round of negotiations but it is expected that talks will continue until July 20 the date set by an interim agreement between the two sides.
He added that Iran and all sides in the P5+1, particularly Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, will use the opportunity from July 2-20 to reach a final agreement.
The diplomat emphasized that the Iranian negotiating team will focus on protecting the countrys dignity and independence, particularly in political, economic, scientific and technical fields, as a major principle.
Iran and the six countries have been holding talks to iron out their differences and finalize a deal, which would end the standoff over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program.
In November 2013, the two sides signed an interim six-month deal, dubbed the Joint Plan of Action, in the Swiss city of Geneva. The six-month agreement came into force on January 20.
