Parliament advisor: Iran standing firm against Zionists’ dreams for Middle-East

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Adviser for International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam warned of the repercussions of the regional unrests for the European states, and said Tehran is standing like a dam against the materialization of the Zionist regime’s wishes and aspirations in the Middle-East.

“It is not just the Middle-East which is harmed by the massive presence of extremists, but the West will also soon witness the naked violence of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) members,” Sheikholeslam said on Monday.

He cautioned since the spread of extremism from the region to the other parts of the world is verly likely, the European states should also be worried about the growth of this phenomenon in the Middle-East.

Sheikholesalm referred to the volatile situation in Iraq and Syria and the Israeli plots against them, and said, “The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will never allow the wishes of the regional reactionary regimes and the Zionists for creating turmoil in the Middle-East to come true and Iraq will never be divided.”

Iran’s important and stabilizing role has always been underlined by different regional and western officials.

Vice-Chairman of the French National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Commission Odile Saugues in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Thursday underscored Tehran’s important role in resolving problems and crises in the region.

Iran plays a pivotal role in settling regional problems and maintaining the security of the region, Saugues said during the meeting in Tehran.

The two officials discussed the recent terrorist acts in Iraq and Syria.

Amir Abdollahian, for his part, underlined that Tehran has always emphasized the need for fostering the diplomatic and political process based on people’s will in the region.

Iran believes that attempts by the terrorist and extremist groups to change the political system of other countries is a dangerous act that must be halted swiftly, he added, saying that extremism and terrorism is not merely the problem of this region and it should be confronted in cooperation with the international community.
