Zarif: Escalation of terrorism, a conspiracy against Muslims in the region
Tehran, June 23, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday that escalation of terrorism is a conspiracy against Muslims in the Middle East.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Sudanese Minister of Human Resources, Development and Labor Ishraqa Sayed Mahmoud.
The current conflict in Iraq is not a war between Shia and Sunni but it is a masterminded plot which aims to prevent powerful emergence of Islam in regional and global power balance, he said.

The Sudanese Minister of Human Resources, Development and Labor is on a visit to Tehran at the official invitation of her Iranian counterpart.

Tehran and Khartoum relations are of strategic nature, Zarif said adding that Iran attaches importance to its relations with Sudan and believes that they have common interests at regional and global arenas.

Iran and Sudan have experienced many challenges such as political pressures and unfair economic sanctions orchestrated by the western states, he said.

The experience gained after triumph of the Islamic revolution indicated that with reliance on the people capabilities and potentials, the government will be able to remove problems and touch development and success, Zarif said.

The ground for expansion of mutual relations and cooperation is well-prepared mainly in agriculture, livestock, industrial equipment, technical and vocational fields, he said, calling for signing agreements in the fields.

Referring to regional developments, he said the region is now experiencing a plot masterminded by global powers to prevent resurrection of Islam in regional and global developments and this has nothing to do with Sunni and Shia.

He advised all groups to exercise vigilance to neutralize the conspiracy.

Relations between Iran and Sudan are deeply rooted and no one could harm the friendly relations, he said.

Sudanese Minister of Human Resources, Development and Labor Ishraqa Sayed Mahmoud, for her part conveyed the warm greetings of Sudanese president to Iranian foreign minister and expressed satisfaction over her visit to Iran.

She also thanked the stand adopted by the Islamic Republic of Iran in backing Sudan and said no one could damage the friendly ties between the two Muslim states.

She expressed the hope to witness bolstering and broadening of relations through implementing already signed agreements between the two countries.

Expressing satisfaction over pace of progress in nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, she said that the Iranian people through resistance will successfully attain their legitimate rights in peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Sudanese government has done its utmost to overcome all pressures and economic sanctions, she underlined.

She called all Islamic states such as Iran and Sudan to exercise vigilance to thwart the plots masterminded by the aliens.
