Iran not to accept symbolic enrichment: FM Zarif
TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian foreign minister and the country's chief nuclear negotiator emphasized that Tehran will go ahead with its nuclear enrichment activities despite pressures imposed by the Western countries.
Now, you cannot come to the negotiating table with the same proposals you had in 2005. Nobody can talk about symbolic enrichment anymore. Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, cautioned the six world powers.

Referring to 2005 negotiations between Iran and the Western countries, Zarif added, Irans nuclear case is resolvable, but the 2005 proposals are not welcome in the negotiations. In 2005, we accepted to have symbolic enrichment, but then they (Westerners) were under illusion and thought they could deprive Iran of enrichment right."

"Now" Zarif underscored "they need to see the realities.

Zarif dismissed the allegations that Tehran is after nuclear weapons as part of Iranophobia in the West.

Currently there is an opportunity to end this unnecessary crisis," added Zarif.

The Iranian top diplomat reiterated that there is no room for nuclear weapon in Irans national security policy.

He concluded that Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany could reach a final agreement until July 20. The Iranian official even expressed the hope that the two sides could reach such agreement in this weeks Vienna negotiations.

Iran foreign minister and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton will meet in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Monday ahead of the new round of nuclear talks between Tehran and six world powers.
