A senior Iranian nuclear negotiator says representatives from the Islamic Republic and Germany will hold bilateral nuclear talks in Tehran.Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that the talks will be held on June 15.
Hans Dieter Lucas, the German representative at the Iran-P5+1 talks, will travel to Tehran to attend a conference organized by Irans Foreign Ministry, Araqchi said.
The bilateral talks will be held on the sidelines of the event, he said.
Araqchi, who is in Geneva heading the Iranian delegation in talks with US representatives, also said that Iran and France will hold bilateral nuclear discussions in Geneva on Wednesday.
Nicolas de Rivire, Frances new representative at the P5+1, will take part in the bilateral talks, he said.
The next round of nuclear talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain -- plus Germany is scheduled for June 16-20 in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
Representatives from Iran and the United States will begin their second day of nuclear negotiations in Geneva on Tuesday.
Araqchi said the first day of the two-day discussions on Monday was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
Iran and the six countries have been holding talks to iron out their differences and reach a final deal to end the standoff over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program. The two sides held the latest round of nuclear negotiations in Vienna in May.
