Iran the only country people voted twice its constitution

TEHRAN, June 3 (MNA) – Iran’s Hassan Rouhani has said that Iran is the only country where people voted twice to its constitution.

Rouhani addressed a meeting of the foreign guests attending the commemoration of late founder of Islamic Revolution death anniversary. “Imam Khomeini (RA) proved that ballot boxes and public votes are endorsed in the frameworks of Islam and Islam confirms the process via its jurisdiction,” he added.

Rouhani emphasized that “Imam showed that Islam is in harmony with republic and republic is in line with Islam.”

“Imam Khomeini was the only leader around the world who asked people to vote if they would accept the Islamic Republic in Iran only after 47 days. He proved the ‘religious democracy’ and ‘religious state’ is capable of being worked out,” asserted Rouhani.

He also mentioned that Imam frequently recommended the whole Muslims of the world to be united and have no fear of superpowers.
