TEHRAN June (Shana)--The second train of phases 15 and 16 of the giant offshore South Pars gas field will deliver 17 mcm/d of sweet gas into national pipeline, director of a consortium developing the projects said.
Mohammad Sharif-Abadi said the third and fourth trains of these two phases are to come on-stream in the summer. He said phases 15 and 16 are expected to start sulfur production in September. Phases 15 and 16 are under development to produce 50 mcm/d of natural gas, 80,000 b/d of gas condensate, 400 tons a day of sulfur and 1 mt a year of liquefied petroleum gas as well as one million tons of ethane for petrochemical plants. Ali-Akbar Shabanpour, managing-director of Pars Oil and Gas Company, said recently that the offshore fields production is expected to increase by 100 mcm/d this year.
