Moscow hosts ‘The Days of Contemporary Iranian Cinema’

Iran has presented a number of the country’s cinematic productions in Russian capital city of Moscow during a Film Week titled The Days of Contemporary Iranian Cinema.
Iranian Film week kicked off in Moscow Cinema House during an opening ceremony held on May 25.

Deputy Head of the Russian Syndicate of Cinematographers Yuri Kalasov and several Iranian officials along with a number of Iranian and Russian cineastes attended the gala.

“The Iranian cinema is known as a cinema with special elements in the world, and is popular in the Russian art and cultural society,” Kalasov said during the ceremony.

The event was inaugurated by screening Iranian filmmaker Ali Reza Raeisian’s creation 40 Years.

The Iranian and Russian cultural and literary illuminates are sources of pride for both countries, the filmmaker Raeisian stated.

Gold and Cooper, Killer, Mr. Yousef and Punishment are among the film lineup of the festival in Moscow.

Iranian cinematic productions have been introduced in several international film events in Russia such as DetectiveFEST in Moscow and international LGBT film festival Side By Side.

Days of Contemporary Iranian Cinema was organized by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and the Iranian Embassy in Moscow.
