Zarif arrives in Istanbul for talks with Ashton

Tehran, May 26, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Monday to hold talks with EU foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton.

Zarif and Ashton are scheduled to review progress of the nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 later today.

Zarif is accompanied by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzyieh Afkham and members of the nuclear negotiating team, including deputies foreign minister Majid Takht Ravanchi and Abbas Araqchi as well as Director-General of Foreign Ministry’s Political and International Security Department Hamid Baeidinejad.

Zarif will leave Istanbul for Algiers to attend the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministerial meeting.

He will address the event and hold separate meetings with officials from NAM member states on the sidelines of the meeting which is to be held on May 26-29.
