Official: Kuwaiti, Syrian companies keen to invest in Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- Several foreign investors, including Kuwaitis and Syrians, have voiced their willingness to invest in Iran's Arvand Free Trade Zone (FTZ), a senior trade official announced on Tuesday.

"Kuwaiti and Syrian investors have shown interest in investing in Arvand zone after visiting its economic and industrial potential and capacities," Deputy Managing-Director of Iran's Arvand FTZ for Economic and Investment Affairs Seyed Ali Moussavi told FNA on Tuesday.

Moussavi said attracting foreign investors is highly important for the zone, and added, "Foreign investors are attracted to Arvand zone due to its geophysical situation."

He noted that the presence of foreign investors in the oil and energy sector and its affiliated industries in Arvand zone will help improve the economic and industrial conditions of the region.

Last month, Iranian Deputy Economy Minister Behrouz Alishiri voiced Tehran's readiness to facilitate investment opportunities for Chinese investors.

"We are ready to provide Chinese companies with a list of foreign investment projects whose feasibility studies have been completed," Alishiri said, addressing a conference attended by a group of Chinese investors in Tehran.

He underlined that Iran is ready for all-out cooperation with Chinese investors as per law on encouragement of foreign investors.
