Iran, Sextet sparing no effort for nuclear deal: Mann

Despite tough negotiations, Iran and six world powers are making every effort to reach a comprehensive deal on Tehrans nuclear energy program as quickly as possible, the spokesman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton says.
Iran and the P5+1 Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany began the latest round of negotiations on the Islamic Republic's nuclear energy program in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Wednesday.

They are, of course, very difficult and complicated negotiations, everybody knows that, because they are complex technical questions, complex political questions, but the fact that it's difficult does not mean that we are not doing everything we can to reach a good agreement as quickly as we can, Michael Mann said on Wednesday.

The most important thing being that we reach a good agreement that everyone is happy with, he added.

Ashtons spokesman went on to say that the current round of the talks between the Islamic Republic and the six nations will focus on handling all outstanding issues to be included in the comprehensive deal.
"We are moving to a new phase in the negotiations when we start pulling together what an outline of an agreement could look like... This is about going the further step, of dealing with all the remaining issues that have to be dealt with in the comprehensive agreement," Mann added.
Iran and the P5+1 are working to hammer out a comprehensive deal following the interim accord that was reached in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013 and went into force on January 20 this year.

Under the Geneva deal, the six countries pledged to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for the Islamic Republic agreeing to scale down certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period.
