Iran entitled to peaceful nuclear program: EP member

Iran entitled to peaceful nuclear program: EP member
A member of the European Parliament (EP) says Iran is entitled to use peaceful nuclear technology, Press TV reports.
I think there are a lot of different opinions in the European Parliament, as you can imagine, but my position is that Iran... has the right to use nuclear power in a peaceful way, Ewald Stadler told Press TV on Wednesday.

He further noted that Iran has the right to use nuclear facilities and nuclear power stations in the same way as members of the EP especially France, the UK and Germany do.

The latest round of negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany began in the Austrian capital of Vienna on May 13.

Stadler also referred to the illegal sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic, saying, they are unjust.
I think these sanctions are very unjustice (sic)... this is not the right policy. I think the right policy is... what is now happening in Vienna-- diplomatic discussion conferences to find solutions, Stadler said.
He further said that Iran is an important member of the international community and expressed hope that the ongoing nuclear talks will bear fruit.

I am optimistic that in the end of July, at least, the conference will be successful, so I hope, he added.

Iran and the P5+1 are working to hammer out a comprehensive deal following the interim accord that was reached in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013 and went into force on January 20 this year.

Under the Geneva deal, the six countries pledged to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for the Islamic Republic agreeing to scale down certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period.
