Tehran, April 14, IRNA – Promotion of ties with Saudi Arabia is on the Iranian government’s agenda, government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said here on Wednesday.
Pointing to Tehran-Riyadh good neighborly relations, he stressed that expansion of mutual cooperation would benefit both countries and the entire region.
The remarks by Nobakht came amidst some news reports that the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal had extended an invitation to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to visit Riyadh.
However, Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday that no written invitation had been received from Saudi Arabia yet. He added that the visit is on the agenda.
