EU spokesman points to ˈnew phaseˈ in Iran nuclear talks

Vienna, May 14, IRNA – Talks between Iran and six world powers on Tehranˈs nuclear program have reached a ˈnew phase,ˈ a spokesman for European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said here Wednesday.
  Adressing the press on the sidelines of the Vienna 4 talks, Michael Mann said both sides were moving towards a ˈnew phase of negotiationsˈ which would outline how an agreement could look like.

He stressed all sides were ˈhighly committedˈ to reaching a comprehensive solution on the Iranian nuclear program.

We are doing everything to reach an agreement as quickly as possible. However itˈs important to reach a ˈgood agreement,ˈ the EU official said.

Mann acknowledged that these negotiations were difficult given the complex technical nature and political questions.

He reiterated that ˈthe most importantˈ obejctive was to reach a comprehensive agreement which would convince the international community about the peaceful nature of Iranˈs nuclear program.
