PMs visit to Iran to help remove irritants: Analyst

ISLAMABAD: Former diplomat Nazar Abbas said that Pakistan and Iran had been bound in historical ties, but some incidents took place in recent past that blurred cordial relations between both the countries.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that preparations were being made for successful visit of Prime MinisterNawaz Sharifto Iran and ongoing visit of Iranian Interior Minister to Pakistan was part of preparations.

He said that Pakistan had been playing key role in activating Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He said that visit of Iranian Interior Minister to Pakistan and proposed visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Iran would be helpful in removing the irritants.

He said that improved relations between Iran andUnited Stateswould cast positive impacts on the region.

He said that Pakistan was forced to act on US directions for being economically poor and comparatively weak country than India.

He added that establishment of hotline between Pakistan and Iran would be helpful in overcoming misunderstandings over petty issues.
