Iranian cineastes to attend CIFEJ in China
The Centre International du Film pours l'Enfance et la Jeuneusse (CIFEJ) has invited a number of Iranian cineastes to its 2014 biennial in China.
Mohsen Chiniforoushan (CIFEJ Secretary General), Elham Shirvani (CIFEJ Executive Director), Iranian producers Fereshteh Taerpour and Ali Moallem as well as the eminent filmmakers Pouran Derakhshandeh and Rasoul Sadr Ameli will partake in the CIFEJ 2014 General Assembly.

The years gathering will include two seminars focusing on How to Make Films for Children and How to Train Children to Watch Films, said Mohsen Chiniforoushan who is currently Head of Irans Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA).

The new president and new members for the board of directors are scheduled to be appointed during the upcoming event, he also noted.

CIFEJ is an independent forum that allows people from all over the world to meet and discuss the quality of the contents of the media for children.

Emerged from a conference held by UNESCO in Edinburg in 1955, CIFEJ is to promote excellence in the production of culturally diverse, entertaining, artistic, educational and informative audio-visual media designed for children and young people.

In 2009, the CIFEJ headquarters was transferred to Irans IIDCYA, Chiniforoushan explained.

The 2014 CIFEJ General Assembly is set to take place in Beijing from May 6 to 10.
