A Swiss parliamentarian has dismissed as wrong the policy of imposing sanctions against Iran, saying the approach is contrary to Switzerlands foreign policy of moderation.
Luzi Stamm, who leads a six-member parliamentary delegation to Tehran, made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Irans Majlis Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Sunday.

Stamm said that during its visit to Iran, the Swiss delegation got to know the realities of the Iranian society and that the anti-Iran propaganda was biased.

The Swiss lawmaker stressed the enhancement of bilateral ties between Tehran and Bern, expressing hope that parliamentary relations between the two countries would further develop.

Boroujerdi, for his part, referred to good ties between Iran and Switzerland, underlining the need to promote bilateral ties in all fields, particularly in the parliamentary arena.

The Iranian lawmaker pointed to the recent European Parliament (EP) resolution about the human rights situation in Iran, saying it is blatant interference in the countrys internal affairs.

On April 3, the European Parliament passed a resolution on the EU strategy toward Iran, expressing concern over the alleged human rights violations in the country.

Iran welcomes promotion of ties with different countries based on mutual respect, common interests and non-interference in other states internal affairs, said Boroujerdi.
