Supreme Leader pardons female prisoners on Womenˈs Day

Tehran, April 20, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday agreed to pardon or reduce prison terms of a group of female prisoners on the occasion of the national Womenˈs Day.

The move by the Supreme Leader was made in response to proposal of Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.

The national Womenˈs Day is annually celebrated by Iranians on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the beloved daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Hazrat-e Fatemeh (SA).

This year, the Women’s Day fell on April 20.
