Govt launches anti-pollution campaign
Tehran, April 14, IRNA - The government has adopted a 9-point plan for reducing air pollution, mainly focusing on high-quality gasoline distribution and better transportation services in Iran.
The plan, adopted Sunday, calls for the Petroleum Ministry to distribute euro-4 gasoline in big cities, the Petroenergy news network SHANA reported on Monday.
As envisaged by the plan, the engines of diesel-burning cars are required to be modified to produce less pollution.

Also, the transportation fleet has to be renovated while a national network must be installed to regularly monitor air pollution.

Furthermore, green space must be expanded in cities and the Department of the Environment should hold regular training programs on state television.
