TEHRAN April 13 (Shana)--Irans gigantic South Pars gas field is instrumental in the countrys national economic development, a vice-president said.
Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, vice-president for planning and strategic supervision, said the administration of President Hassan Rouhani is determined to develop hydrocarbon fields Iran shares with neighboring countries.

Iran shares South Pars with Qatar in the Persian Gulf.

Nobakht visited the refinery structures of Phase 12 of South Pars on Friday.

A consortium of Iranian companies led by Petropars is operating the phase.

Phase 12 recently started tentative production. It is injecting more than 12 mcm/d of natural gas into national network, plus giving 16,000 b/d of gas condensate.
