Iranian lutist to perform in Tunisian music festival
TEHRAN, April 9 (MNA) An Iranian music player will perform in Tunisian International Musical Instruments Festival in late April.
Majid Nazempour told Mehr News that he would perform in Sousa Music Festival in Tunisia held April 11-19.

Attending in the festival would be players from Egypt, Brazil, USA, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, France, and Italy; he was quoted by Mehr News as saying. I will represent Iran in the festival. My participation is sponsored directly by Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and Iran's cultural attach to Tunisia, Nazempour said, where I will play pieces such as Tableaux de Vie, Frolic, Fresh Start, and The Secret of Coast in lute solo performance.

I have always done my best to introduce Iranian music in international festivals to impart a different and novel mood and to play pieces in harmony with Iranian music and more palatable to foreign tastes, Nazempour said.

Sousa music festival is among Tunisias important music events and could provide valuable opportunities for Iranian music to come to the international podiums, and given the importance of the event, I will attempt to best represent Iranian music, he asserted.

Nazempour is a famous lutist who had been playing for 27 years. He has released solo performance album The Secret of Coast and has written and compiled research books in music, has performed in concerts and delivered speeches about lute, and lectured in university courses.

His latest appearance had been in a concert in Austria.
