A top Iranian negotiator has expressed optimism that Iran and the six world powers involved in nuclear talks with the Islamic Republic may start drafting their final agreement as of the next Iranian month (starting April 21).Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi on Sunday expressed hope that the two sides would start drafting the text of the final agreement next month.
We hope that in the upcoming talks we would be able to bring the views closer and narrow the differences regarding major issues, so we could get to the detailsand start writing the text, he added.
Araqchi noted that the next round of the talks in Vienna will open on Tuesday attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, and will then continue at the level of their deputies.
On Saturday, Hamid Baeedinejad, the head of Irans negotiating team involved in expert-level talks with six major world powers, described the latest round of the nuclear negotiations, which had wrapped up earlier in the day, as beneficial.
Iran and the six world powers - the US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China - clinched a landmark interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013.
Under the deal, dubbed the Joint Plan of Action, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period. It was also agreed that no nuclear-related sanctions will be imposed on Iran within the same timeframe. The interim agreement took effect on January 20.
