Irans ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says fresh expert-level talks between Iran and the six world powers on Tehran's nuclear energy program will cover all remaining issues related to a final deal.The third round of the expert-level talks between Iran and the P5+1 group, which started on Thursday afternoon in Vienna, will include all remaining issues agreed to be brought up within the framework of the comprehensive and final deal, Reza Najafi said late on Thursday.
The talks between Tehran and the six world powers -- the United States, China, Russia, France, Britain and Germany -- are part of efforts to seal a final deal on the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program. The two sides reached an interim deal on November 24, 2013, in Geneva to set the stage for the full settlement of the dispute over Irans nuclear energy program.
Under the Geneva deal, the six countries agreed to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period. It was also agreed that no nuclear-related sanctions would be imposed on Iran within the same time frame.
Referring to the Thursday session between expert teams representing Iran and the six countries, Najafi stated that the session lasted six hours and the two sides expressed their views and ideas clearly.
Iran and its negotiating partners wrapped up their latest round of high-level nuclear talks in Vienna on March 19. The two sides are set to resume their negotiations on April 7-9.
Hamid Baeedinejad, the director general for political and international affairs at Irans Foreign Ministry, heads the Iranian delegation in this round of expert-level talks.
