Pakistani govˈt responsible for safety of abducted Iranian border guards: MP

Tehran, March 25, IRNA – Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi emphasized that the government of Pakistan is responsible for the safety of the Iranian border guards kidnapped into Pakistan.

Talking to IRNA here on Tuesday, he noted that Iranian officials have been constantly in contact with Pakistanˈs interior and foreign ministries over the issue.

According to the international law and neighborly relations, it is the responsibility of the Pakistani government to guarantee the safety of Iranian border guards who were recently abducted into Pakistan by terrorist groups, Boroujerdi added.

He noted that Iran and Pakistan interior ministries had formed a joint committee to fight terrorists.

Iran and Pakistan have started a collaborative work for following up the case, the parliamentarian added.
