Expansion of Iran-Pakistan educational ties stressed

Islamabad, March 19, IRNA A Pakistani educationist on Wednesday said that Iran and Pakistan are two brotherly countries and therefore should enhance their cooperation in education sector.
Taking to IRNA Dr Razia Sultana, Associate Professor of history at the Quaid-i-Azam University said that since the creation of Pakistan both countries have been enjoying strong relations as Iran was the first country that had recognized Pakistan as an independent country.

She said there are so many commonalities shared by the two countries such as history, culture, religion, and geography.

There has been hardly any dispute between Iran and Pakistan, noted the scholar,

adding that there is no difference of opinion between the two on major world issues.

Referring to bilateral ties as ?very strong?, she said both countries have to promote people to people contact for bringing the two neighbors closer to each other.

She reiterated that Tehran-Islamabad cultural cooperation will definitely influence bilateral political and economic relations.

The educationist said that Pakistan considers Iran as a friend and both countries have been enjoying cordial relations for past many years.

The analyst said that activities between Iran and Pakistan in educational sector need to be increased to further cement ties. She added that the QAU and Iran?s Cultural Consulate have signed an MoU for enhancing corporation and a Rumi Chair has been set up at the Quaid-e-Azam University in this regards.

She said that under the MoU the QAU would be benefitted from research works of Iranian scholars and scholarships will be given to Pakistani students to carry out their researches. I think the educational and cultural activities between the two countries should be further enhanced.
